Decoration guide

Choosing the right decoration

The right method depends on your logo, the garment and how many pieces you need. Here’s a plain-language guide — or just send your logo and we’ll recommend one.

Screen printing

The classic for tees and hoodies. Ink is pushed through a screen, one screen per colour.

Best for

  • Runs of about 24+ pieces with the same design
  • Bold logos with 1–4 spot colours
  • Cotton and cotton-blend tees, hoodies, crewnecks, totes

Not ideal for

  • Photos or gradients (use DTF instead)
  • Very small runs — screen set-up per colour adds up

Price guide: $4.10–$13.00 per piece on your garments (median by quantity, 17 invoice lines)

Black YP Classics 6089M snapback cap, front angle

Embroidery (incl. 3D puff)

Thread stitched directly into the garment — premium, durable and professional.

Best for

  • Polos, quarter-zips, jackets, caps and toques
  • Left-chest logos, sleeve hits and cap fronts
  • 3D puff for raised, bold cap logos

Not ideal for

  • Large back designs (cost rises with stitch count)
  • Very fine text under about 5 mm tall

Price guide: $4.75–$12.00 per piece on your garments (median by quantity, 11 invoice lines)

Sublimation

Dye becomes part of the fabric, so the whole garment can be printed edge to edge with no feel.

Best for

  • Full-colour team jerseys, socks and soccer kits
  • Designs with stripes, patterns, gradients and photos
  • Polyester performance fabrics

Not ideal for

  • Cotton garments or dark base fabrics
  • Single pieces of a one-off design (set-up per design)

Price guide: Priced into the garment — see team jerseys in the catalogue

Heat transfer & DTF

A printed film is heat-pressed onto the garment. Great detail and colour without screens.

Best for

  • Small runs and one-offs
  • Full-colour logos, gradients and photos
  • Mixed garment types in one order

Not ideal for

  • Very large runs of a simple 1-colour design (screen print is better value)

Price guide: $7.00–$9.00 per piece on your garments (median by quantity, 8 invoice lines)

Names & numbers

Individual player names and numbers in twill, vinyl or printed transfers.

Best for

  • Hockey, soccer, ball and basketball jerseys
  • Grad hoodies with names or class year
  • Staff jackets and hoodies with first names

Not ideal for

  • Send a clean list: name, number and size per player

Price guide: Typically $7.00–$9.00 per piece (from our invoices)

Blank charcoal pullover hoodie, the base garment for chenille patches

Chenille & woven patches

Made-to-order patches sewn or pressed on — great for letterman-style and vintage looks.

Best for

  • Chenille letters and crests on hoodies and crewnecks
  • Woven or sublimated patches for caps and jackets

Not ideal for

  • Very short deadlines (patches are made to order)

Price guide: Quoted per design and quantity

Artwork checklist

  • Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) give the sharpest result for every method.
  • High-resolution PNG (transparent background, 300 dpi at print size) works for DTF and sublimation.
  • Tell us your exact colours (Pantone if you have them).
  • No vector file? We can redraw or digitize your logo for the one-time set-up fee (typically $60.00).
